Luna is an interactive shrine showcasing the connection between the moon, the earth and its creatures. A spherical moon, covered in thousands of intricately hand cut, metal moths pulses with light in real time, reflecting participant’s heartbeats as they interact with the tides of the moon. Luna celebrates symbiosis.
Due to COVID-19 Luna has been postponed from Burning Man 2020.
Luna will be made of a modular steel frame covered with hundreds of hand cut metal moths. LED lights will be woven into the steel base, that pulse with the tides. Inside the installation will be hamsas with pulse sensors. As participants place their hands upon the sensors, individual moths light up and pulse with participant’s heartbeat.
